Biorela® ORS is food for special medical purposes intended for nutrition of patients with loss of electrolytes and water due to diarrhoea and vomiting and for rehydration and replenishment of electrolytes.
The osmolality of the solution is 245 mOsm/kg, which is also the recommendation of the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
The World Health Organization and UNICEF recommend ORS with reduced osmolality (245 mmol/L) to prevent dehydration in all types of diarrhoea. ORS with reduced osmolality proved to be 25% more effective in reducing diarrhoea, and 30% less vomiting was recorded compared to the old formulation.
Composition
One (1) stick of Biorela® ORS contains: dextrose, sodium chloride, trisodium citrate, potassium chloride, lemon flavour, zinc gluconate, anti-caking agent: magnesium salts of fatty acids.

It is necessary to dissolve the contents of the stick in 200 ml of boiled water cooled to room temperature. Once the oral rehydration solution is prepared, it should be used within 6 hours if stored in the refrigerator or within 3 hours if stored at room temperature. The doctor prescribes the amount and dosage depending on the degree of dehydration. The product is intended for children from the age of 3 and adults.
